OUTLOOK — A local business headquartered in Outlook has acquired two retail locations centred on agriculture.

Riverbend Co-op announced the acquisition of two ag retail locations in Nokomis and Lanigan, along with an anhydrous ammonia bullet (tank) in Davidson, previously operated by the Blair’s Family of Companies.

The transition date is set for Sept. 2, just after the Labour Day long weekend.

In a media release, Riverbend said the move builds on the existing partnership between Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) and Blair’s, with Riverbend now taking full ownership of these assets as part of a broader transition across Saskatchewan.

“We’re excited to welcome the Nokomis and Lanigan teams and their customers into the Riverbend Co-op family,” said Greg Sarvis, CEO of Riverbend Co-op, in the release. “This acquisition aligns with our vision to be the retailer of choice for the products and services we provide. It allows us to expand our footprint and serve more farm customers with the same level of trusted advice and community commitment they’ve come to rely on.”

The co-operative said the move marks a continued commitment to keeping key pieces of the ag supply chain owned and operated in the province by the members and communities who rely on such services to support their farms, livelihoods and rural economies.

With the addition of the two ag locations, Riverbend intends to retain many of the same employees that customers in Nokomis and Lanigan already know. The acquisition also means people can use their Co-op membership numbers for purchases and gain access to expanded offerings through Riverbend.

“We know that strong relationships are at the heart of agriculture,” added Sarvis. “That’s why we’re excited to welcome these dedicated individuals to our team and continue serving customers with the same local care and expertise they expect. This is more than just an expansion — it’s a commitment to agriculture and to the communities we serve. We’re investing in people, relationships, and infrastructure to ensure we continue to grow alongside our members and customers.”
