Overall, farm groups were surprised by the appointment of Liberal PEI MP Heath MacDonald as Federal Agriculture Minister, expecting Nova Scotia MP Kody Blois to remain in the role. While they spoke positively of Blois’ brief time as Ag Minister, groups say they are looking forward to meeting and working with MacDonald on a number of issues.
