Last Mountain Distillery Wins Big at Canadian Whisky Awards

The expression is “it’s just nice to be nominated”.

Last Mountain Distillery in Lumsden has brought back some prestigious awards from the Canadian Whisky Awards, held in Victoria, B.C..

For the fifth year in a row, Last Mountain has been named as having the best Wheat Whisky of the year for its “Straight Wheat Whisky”.

The distillery also picked up an award for its “Wood Rye Whisky”.

The awards are a non profit event, and each entry is judged by an independent panel of whisky experts, who do blind taste tests on the entries.

The family owned Last Mountain Distillery is based in Lumsden, and is Saskatchewan’s first “micro-distillery”.
