Saskatchewan Trade Minister Jeremy Harrison is leading a delegation on a trade mission to the U.K. and Poland, starting tomorrow (Sat).

The objective, according to a provincial news release, is to expand opportunities in agriculture, critical minerals, innovative technology, immigration, and talent attraction.

Harrison and company will first stop in the United Kingdom for an event with the Critical Minerals Association, where they will promote the Saskatchewan Research Council’s (SRC) experience in rare earths processing.

Some Saskatchewan businesses will be attending the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit, joining Cultivator and Innovate U.K. at an investor start-ups session.

The next stop is in Poland where Harrison will participate in trade and investment meetings an an employer-led international recruitment initiative.

Provincial numbers show Saskatchewan merchandise exports to the European Union (EU) and U.K. were $2.7-billion in 2022. Top exports to the EU were potash ($760.4-million), wheat ($587.5-million), and uranium ($409.2-million).

The delegation will be overseas until next Saturday (Sept. 30).
